This is an idea I got from a Jenruki (Rika×Henry) shrine and it seemed really interesting. Of course the webmistress of Mixed Wind wrote these things as a Jenruki fan and since I'm opposit of that, I'll do it differently. However, her site is really cute and worth your free time!
EPISODE 40 - Henry's suspicious smile (*discovered by myself*)
I already mentioned this smile once (or maybe several times - which I doubt) and when I started doing this section, I quickly
saw the 40th episode again to make sure if the smile was something worth mentioning. Well, it was! So, that's how it goes:
Rika was stroking crazy Juri's dog puppet, when Ryo suddenly said a)that he was happy he could go home now or
b)what would he get
for saving Rika's life twice (depends on the version and we all like dubbed one better! *-*). Rika then jabbed him on his
cheek and they both giggled. And during their giggle, the camera showed HENRY with Suzie, Terriermon and Lopmon sleeping
in his lap. Henry was smiling at Rika and Ryo. Just Henry, nobody else listened to the two of them. If you see
the picture with Henry's smile, you can see that he IS looking at Rika and Ryo because we can see Renamon's face not his
back like on the first two pics.
So Henry is thinking what an interesting story! OR something like I'm so glad that Rika gets along with someone so well ! My wicked Ryuki mind thinks it's the second one. C'mon, Ryo's words weren't all that interesting. What do you think? 8)
EPISODE 50 (DUBBED) - Henry jealous?
Dubbed version of Tamers has one more 'triangle love proof' which you can't find in the original. Let's see the situation:
Henry was waiting in a light ball (that sounds weird, if you didn't watch the episode XD) for Rika and Takato. He wants to
show them the RED card (so awesome ..). So, Rika and Takato came there with their Digimon and Henry showed them the card.
They were just trying to use it, when the ball opened and Ryo and Cyberdramon jumped in.
Ryo: You weren't planing to leave without us, were you? Hi guys!
Takato: Hi yourself!
Rika: We didn't exactly forget about you.
Ryo: Pleeease, how could you!
Henry: If you two are finished, let's get to work. [without saying hi to the newcomer]
So, wasn't that odd? In the dubbed, of course. I checked the german version and I started to laugh because of the irony ...
Rika said there, that they totally forgot about him. Gaah, how romantic! (khemkhemstupidrikakhem .. joke xD) T_T
However, Henry did sound a bit jealous here. Why is that? Is that a proof to an american love triangle?
EPISODE 51 - Henry saves Rika
I don't find this scene as an action of love but it's still worth mentioning (and killing, muehehehee .. ok, I'm a bit too
sharp, sorry!).
Ryo asked Rika for all her powers (oh yeah, we just looove THIS scene) and she gave them to him. Sakuyamon was then so weak
that she couldn't move or defend herself (and she also lost her clothes!). Ryo's goal was to kill the blue-redish D-Reaper
agent but the agent enjoyed his last minutes and attacked Rika. MegaGargomon - Henry - jumped in front of her and kicked
some dangerous axe like hands of the monster with his taichi or kung fu moves. That's how Henry saved her, not Ryo. Ryo
left Rika to die, that bastard! Well, I see this differently - of course, I'm not a Jenruki fan and that's my only
apology.
Ryo asked for Rika's powers to destroy the D-Reaper and went through some serious shock therapies but survived. Then he tried to kill the monster and was totally focused on that. If he was also protecting Rika, what would Henry be doing? Flying around? They were probably just trying to fill the epi with some action. Henry's jump in front of Rika didn't stop there, Henry destroyed a few axe arms of the monster before it all ended. If they were trying to make a Jenruki moment, they would leave the axe to hurt Henry so bad that MegaGargomon would fell down injured while Rika would be screaming his name! o.O So, in my humble opinion, this was just something to fill the episode, nothing more. But ok, you can still think what you want! :3
I think there isn't a love triangle between these three. In my opinion, the story goes like this: in ep 41 Henry smiled at Rika and Ryo because he found them cute. Yes, cute. Can a boy think something is cute? I don't know, but I think Henry felt something like that. Ep 50 only happened in the american version and we all know how romantic these versions can be - for example the scene between Rika and Ryo .. he called her pumpkin! Isn't that sooo cute? *_* However, they were probably trying to make a whole telenovela out of Tamers and added a moment of jealousy - the second main ingredient for a romance. Ep 51 is in my opinion just a normal scene, maybe to show how weak Sakuyamon was after losing all her powers.
