I don't know if this is still a thing but I have really nice memories of the affiliation culture. :D I started DigiRoyalty in 2008, whole 5 years after it was extremely popular to have Digimon related websites and shrines, and it was already difficult to get an affiliate or be accepted as one, since the shrines were already disappearing or weren't updated anymore and all that was left were bigger Digimon websites that wouldn't affiliate with a couple-shrine.
