Rika's Appearance in DIGIMON HUNTERS

Digimon Hunters is the third season of the Digimon Xros Wars (or Digimon Fusion in dub) series. It's sometimes considered as a separate series, since it gets a new leader (although Taiki, the leader of the first two Xros Wars, is still there but is more of a side character in this season) and a bunch of new characters. The Japanese title of the third season is "The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time" which is why I'm using the shorten "Digimon Hunters" title on DR. Rika appears in episodes 76 and 78 of the trilogy (which would be episodes 22 and 24 of Hunters as a separate season).

EPISODE 78: The DigiQuartz (a dimension between the DigiWorld and the real world created by the evil Quartzmon) consumes the real world and transforms ordinary humans to data. In order to defeat Quartzmon the Old Clock Shop guy and Clockmon summon the Digidestined from different times and dimensions to help the children from the Xros Wars universe. He sends the old Digidestined to take care of the evil Digimon scattered around the world and to try to prevent the DigiQuartz from growing and consuming even more of the real world. Silhouettes of different Digidestined and Digimon are shown fighting the enemy in different parts of the world. We see Sakuyamon with Lilymon (and another hairy Digimon or Digidestined that I can't recognise) in Athens (?), and we see Justimon with Angemon and Angewomon in an unidentified and more natural setting.

The Old Clock Shop guy introduces the guests as the heroes that saved their worlds at some point in their time and dimension and reveals that the only way to defeat Quartzmon is for the six leaders of each Digidestined group to unite their powers (Tai, Davis, Takato, Takuya, Masaru and Taiki).

EPISODE 76: We get to see Rika two episodes earlier (in episode 76) when Kiriha travels to the Hong Kong DigiQuartz, where he saves Nene from an evil Digimon. He tells her that he had help destroying the badguy and Rika and Mimi (from Adventure 01) are shown standing with their Digimon behind him. He then turns to them and asks them if they too are Digimon hunters. They show him their Digivice and Rika introduces them as their helpers. She then warns him the crucial battle in Japan is near.
Sadly that's all we see from her, since the following episodes are focusing only on the five leaders and their strongest Digivolutions.

Rika (and especially Mimi, who doesn't say anything and looks like someone had stolen her soul) feel a bit stiff but I LOVE the artwork here. This is definitely one of my favourite Rika's appearances (though I couldn't say the same for Mimi).
